about

Pop rock vocal love song laced with irony. All about having it way bad for someone. Wrote this around 2000. Marsha was a fictitious name for another person. I can no longer recall who that person was. A little nod to Greg Hawkes with the solo synth sound.

lyrics

Don't wanna do the dishes.
Don't wanna put away my britches.
There's only one way to fulfill my wishes -
I'm gonna try calling Marsha.

Don't wanna go out shoppin'.
Don't wanna drive out to some place that's hoppin'.
Don't wanna telephone some friends to drop in.
Just wanna try calling Marsha.

Don't wanna work, don't wanna play.
Don't want the night, don't want the day.
But what I need and what I want
Two different things, can't even say
I want the dream to go away.

Don't wanna be invited.
Unless you talked with her I'm not excited.
Yeah, I'm exclusive, not trying to hide it.
I'm happy when I'm calling Marsha.

Don't wanna dream with Alan.
Don't want a Neapolitan half gallon.
I'm so hung up I think I'll throw the towel in
After I try calling Marsha.
First let me try calling Marsha.
